Rev. Bonaparte pastored St. James AME Zion Church, Maiden, NC for nine years. His residential care facility is called 'Emanuel House'. The goal is to give these boys a Home-Away-From-Home. He is a wonderful and available preacher/teacher. Rev. Bonaparte is also a skilled carpenter. He made his association with Thomas Chapel at the beginning of conference year 2006-07. He serves on the Grounds Committee for Camp Dorothy Walls.

Her career with the company covered a span of 33 years. She retired from there and now keeps busy by volunteering in the school system and the church and working in the family's business.

In the A.M.E. Zion Church, Mrs. Bonaparte serves as the Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer to the National and WNC Conference Ministers Spouses and Widows(ers) Fellowship, respectively. Currently, she is serving as the Statesville District President of the WH&OM Society. She also serves as a Deaconess and Christian Education Department Member at Thomas Chapel in Conover, NC, where the pastor is the Rev. Lenton Rhodes.
